Monday Activities

Happy Monday Everyone!! I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend and is looking forward to some nice weather this week. Start the day by joining Mrs. Melissa for the Daily Morning Meeting.

Enjoy Story Time with Mrs. Melissa. Today’s story is about a cute little pig, and Pancakes! Join me for a silly story about a pig and his adventure after having a pancake 🙂

Today is our Physical Education Day. Try to get some physical activity by kicking a ball around, or sitting down and rolling the ball and forth. If you want to try and run you could play keep away. Whoever has the ball runs until they get tagged. Once tagged pass the ball o the player that tagged you and try to tag the person with the ball!

It is Art Day! Color the letter W for whale page, or try making a moon and star stamp with toilet paper rolls. Then use the toilet paper roll stamps to make decorative Ramadan pictures! You can stamp with paint, or use a marker to trace the shapes, or use a stamp pad if you have one. Once your picture is complete send it to a family member or hang it in your own house!

Moon and Stars Craft

Here is a link to a fun Moon and Stars Window Hanging Craft for Ramadan: https://nurturestore.co.uk/paper-plate-moon-ramadan-craft

You will need scissors, a paper plate, tissue paper, glue, and paint/markers/crayons. Adults will likely have to cut out the crescent and star shapes, but younger hands should be able to help with all of the other steps!

  • Tearing tissue paper is a great way for students to practice using both of their hands, and it is a great hand strengthening activity as well.
  • Cutting the tissue paper is another great option to work on scissor skills.
  • Helping to hold and squeeze a glue bottle or paint bottle is a great way to strengthen hands and practice using both hands.
  • Coloring or painting the paper plate is a great way to practice using our “helper hand” to stabilize the plate while we paint or color with the dominant hand. This will also work on fine motor skills needed to grasp and manipulate a marker, crayon, or paint brush.

Jumping Rope

This link will show a good way to start jumping rope for the younger students. Keeping it simple and giving them a high rate of success, I usually will ask them to lay rope down and just jump, hop, ski jump over it. I usually will let them use the rope to create letters or shapes, before getting into the jumping rope, also.
