Happy Week 3 of Online Learning! I hope everyone had a safe and relaxing weekend. Here is a look at our week:

**Reminder: Next week is our spring break, we will not be having assignments/online learning.

Spelling

-There is a new list this week (week 26). The pattern is dropping the y and adding ies at the end of a word. There are no assignments today, but I would like you to practice the words. You can either play a game on SpellingCity or play a spelling game at home. Some ideas are: spelling baseball, flashcards, etc.

Writing

-Most everyone has signed up for a famous person to learn about! These are the steps you need to take this week.
Assignment:
1. Watch the brainpop video about your person (it is a link on the sign up sheet) Username: hullroom207 Password: lindbergh2020
2. Read the Readworks article I assigned to you about your person (It will be on Google Classroom) If you want a copy to print- just email me!
3. Write down facts that you have learned from both sources (the fact sheet is on Google Classroom) You can also write it down on paper and send it to me.
4. You may also use the Internet to research other facts.
5. Create a Google Slideshow about all of the facts you learned. (I will put an example up on what it should look like)
This is due by Friday! I will put all the resources you need below.

Reading

Reading is a little different this week. There will be no Readworks articles this week to do as a reading assignment. There is a mystery crime that we will be solving this week. Each day, you will have a clue to solve. As you solve the clues- you cross out people from the suspect list. On day #5, you should have one prime suspect left!
Assignment:
1. Today, read clue #1 and try to solve the first clue. As as a tip, you should read the questions and highlight where you found the answer in the story to help!!
2. Once you solve the clue, cross out some suspects. You need to keep the suspect list all week. You should print it, but if you can’t, you can just use it on the computer and keep track on a piece of paper.
3. Choice: Each day- you can either type the answer to your clue or you can print the paper and write down the clue.
All 5 clues are due by Friday. You can send them one day at a time or all by Friday.

I am giving out detective awards for who finds the prime suspect in this case on Friday!! 🙂 We will talk about it on our classroom session on Friday.
