Important Celebration Dates!!!!

Hello Families!

Due to the unexpected snow days, we are adjusting our party dates!

Our school wide 100th Day of School celebration will actually be on Monday, February 14th!!!! PLEASE remember we are encouraging all of Salina Elementary’s students to dress up like they are 100 years old! (ex. gray hair (baby powder in the hair, pretend glasses, sweaters that button, curlers in the hair, mustaches….. there are many ideas online.

The next day, Tuesday, Feb. 15th is our classroom Valentine celebration!!!! I really wanted to keep these two classroom celebrations separate. This is such a special day where we go the extra mile in telling our friends how much they mean to us! On this day, I am encouraging each child to wear red!!!! If your child wants to bring in Valentine cards or treats for their classmates, please remember the following….

  1. We have 21 students. Please make sure your child brings for every student.
  2. PLEASE only write YOUR child’s name on the valentines. It makes it so much easier to pass them out.
  3. Only send in prepackaged candy or treats! NO cupcakes, chips, or cookies. They will be getting a special dessert at our party from me.
  4. PLEASE do not send in an unopened box of valentines. Make sure each card is ready to go into a friend’s bag. This will make our Valentine giving so so so so much easier with 21 children 😉

Today, we took our spelling test for week 2!!! The children did an amazing job! You will see those come home tomorrow. Week 3’s spelling test will be on Friday!! Please continue to help your child practice.

Thank you for all you do!

Love, Ms. Mehrhof
