Happy Monday!
I had a few questions about the timeline project and the St. Patrick’s Day Le[rechaun traps. I have included both notes that went home below.
BOTH are due on Friday the 14th. I apologize for this but unfortunately the timing of the end of the marking periods for grades lined up with St. Patrick’s Day. You can send the projects in ANY day this week. You do not need to wait until Friday.
The Timeline Project IS GRADED. The Leprechaun trap is NOT. We do the traps because it is a fun way to spark creativity and their imagination! we will use the ‘results’ to do our writing on Monday the 17th!
For the trap, there are lots of ideas online. Just google “leprechaun traps in kindergarten” and you will see lots of suggestions. You really do not need to buy anything. Cereal boxes work great for the base. You can decorate with crayons, markers, construction paper, wrapping paper, paint, etc. If you do want to buy gold coins or other St. Patrick’s Day things, Dollar Tree is a great place to go!
For the Timeline Project, I recommend using one poster board (Dollar Tree for the win again! They are less than a dollar). You can either stagger the pictures above and below the line (see the yellow example on the note above) or you can cut in half and then tape it together to form a longer board (see the white example). Please do NOT use more than 5 pictures.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
