Class Info

Dear Families,

I hope everyone had a great summer! My name is Mrs. Massey and I am very excited to be working with you and your child.

I hope to get to know each of you as the year goes on, but first, I thought I would share a little bit about myself.  I earned my both my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education and my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction at Eastern Michigan University. I have a second master’s degree in Teaching English as a Second Language from Grand Canyon University. This year starts my 25th year in teaching! I am super excited to be able to take part in making a difference and helping young learners’ grow.

I have been married to my husband for 20 years. We have one daughter, a 18-year-old named Peyton. She is getting ready to start her freshman year in college. She is attending Wheeling University in Wheeling, West Virginia. She is an athlete and plays softball at college. I enjoy playing softball and soccer myself. I also love to read and spend time with my family and friends.

I will be working extremely hard to establish our classroom as a happy, challenging, comfortable and safe learning environment where we all do our personal best.

Take a moment to imagine the early childhood world: letters, numbers, stories, sharing blocks, puzzles, play, paint and play-dough. Imagination  and creativity are everywhere. As you talk with  your child about their day and celebrate their best effort on the work they do, remember that many times the process is more important than the product, and learning is accomplished by doing, touching, and experiencing.

I believe that each child brings their own unique talents, experiences, and personality to share in our classroom. My main goal is to instill a LOVE of learning in your child and I look forward to learning and sharing curriculum with them that both enriches and sparks their interest.

Kindergarten is such a special year and I feel so blessed to be a part of it. Your involvement, interest, and enthusiasm will help make this a wonderful year of growth for you and your child.

I look forward to working with you!

Educationally Yours,

Mrs. Massey
