Rise and Shine First Graders and families! It was so good to see many of you yesterday when you came to pick up your belongings. Morgan, standing up and waving from the car roof window, was the highlight. I do have two bags of belongings that I will deliver later. You guys have been “kicking Butt” the whole time. I am so proud of you. Your stories are always full of emotion and details. I told the 2nd grade teachers that you know how to type on google classroom. They were happy to hear that.

      My favorite holiday is Eid. On Eid we open presents and everyone comes over. We have a lot of fun. This Eid we had brunch in our backyard. I ate cheese pies. They were awesome. I prayed in the living room with my family. We went through Dairy Queen’s drive thru to get ice cream. The line was almost an hour long. The Eid was awesome this year!

     Memorial day is about remembering the soldiers that fought for our country. Also we spend time with our loved ones.

      We went to the park and had a picnic, and I practiced riding my bike without the training wheels. Now I can ride my bike with 2 wheels. Next year I want to go to the beach and have a picnic.

Memorial Day was yesterday.  The weather was very nice and hot. It was 90 degrees.  I rode my bike, I played with my neighbor’s dog “Mickey”.  I relaxed outside with my mom and dad.  We barbecued hamburgers, hot dogs, and beef tacos.  We ate a lot of food until we were stuffed. We also made delicious berry smoothies.  It was the best day ever!

Most of you are really moving along in Raz kids. As I mentioned earlier the letter “I” is where a 1st grader should be by the end of the year. You have all Summer to keep working on these stories, so you are ready for 2nd grade. Some students are past letter “I”, some students are close, and some have a ways to go. Don’t worry as long as your moving along thats all I care about.

Collection and Distribution

Good Evening Howard Families,

We hope that you and your loved ones enjoyed this holiday weekend and had time to take a break from the new norm of the “remote lifestyle.”    We are gearing up for the end of the school year and we wanted to give you a heads up about this coming Thursday, May 28th.  On Thursday, May 28th from 11:30-2:30 pm we will have a distribution of student belongings.  Students will receive personal belongings from their desks in a brown bag labeled with their name on it.  If you have a specific item that you are concerned about (i.e. jacket, eyeglasses etc…), please be sure to communicate with your child’s teacher so that we do not miss anything important.  Additionally, we will be asking that students return specific school belongings back to the school on this distribution day.  Your child’s teacher will communicate with you about what specific item(s) to return on that day, examples of items may include (LLI books, library books, reading bags, textbooks, instruments for 5th graders, and safety belts).  We will NOT be asking you to return Chromebooks at this time so please hang on to those for now.  You may come to the school anytime during the 3 hour time frame (11:30-2:30 pm) on May 28th.  It will be a drive-up format so please remain in your vehicles at all times. Drive-up locations around the school will be coordinated with normal after school pick-up locations.  Please see below for a reminder of where to drive-up depending on the grade-level(s) of your child(ren).  As a friendly reminder, parents and students are not allowed in the building for their safety so please remain in your vehicles at all times.  Thank you for your continued flexibility and patience during this unprecedented time.
