Would you like to read my blog in another language?

Mrs. Saad has shared a video on her blog on how to change the language on a blog. She asked us to share with our parents. Her directions will tell you to go to her blog, you won’t want to do that. Type in my blog: Kearney’s Weekly Chatter Box. The link below will give you directions on how to change the language on my blog.

Google Duo

Hello,

On Wednesday I’d like to give google duo a try. It works with both Androids and iphones. For this weeks get together I’d like them to choose one of these options.

read a few pages from a book to the group or read their seasons writing or sing a song to us

I will be calling them from the phone number I normally call you at. If at your scheduled time, you know that won’t be a good number, then just text me the number you would like me to use for the get together on Wednesday. Here is the schedule:

Wednesday May 6, 2020

3:00-3:30- Shakeeb, Ranal, Ayham, Hussein, Layann, Mohamad

3:40-4:10-Ameer, Leah, Tala, Waleed, Hamad, Sofia, Mahdi

4:20-4:50- Nawaem, Van, Helen, Hamza, Gabe, Salma

A Message from Ms. M

Dear snow Family,

The last time I had the honor of celebrating Mother’s Day was 9 years ago! At the time, I enjoyed hugging my mom, giving her a kiss on her cheek, and whispering in her ear, ” Mom, you mean the world to me!”. For that my friends, I would like for you to take a moment this week and tell your mother, your grandmother, and/or your caregiver how much you love her, how much you appreciate the time you’re spending with her, and how grateful you are for her!
Happy Mother’s Day to all!
Our weekly activities are here! please let me know if you have any questions! https://padlet.com/moslemh/i4i34iiomazcpml0 My phone number: 313-706-4888

Sorry times 2

Hello,

I’m sad to say we cannot use google hangouts or meets any longer. I’d still like to do the show and tell via face time. So this will be a practice to see if we can do it. Here is a schedule, if your phone and your child is available for on Wednesday at the designated time, I’d love for them to join and present their show and tell.

April 29, Face Time

11:00-11:30 -Van, Helen, Mohamad, Leah, Ranal

11:40-12:10– Shakeeb, Sofia, Hamza, Mahdi,

12:20-12:50- Hussein, Tala, Gabe, Salma, Ameer,

1:00-1:30-Waleed, Ayham, Hamad, Nawaem, Layaan

Here is the Show and Tell assignment for our face time call (so you don’t have to look back at the earlier post about it).

I’d like students to share with the class a pet they have at home (No pet? Then choose a stuffed animal, doll, or action figure), by showing it to us and then providing 3 adjectives (describing words), that describe their pet. They can choose one of these 2 ways to present the adjectives or if they have their own way, they can do that too.

3-adjectives soft, cuddly, fast

Example 1. This is my ________. His name is _________. He is, ____________, _____________, and _____________.

This is my cat. His name is Rex. He is soft, cuddly, and fast.

3-adjectives-black, small, fast

Example 2. This is my _______. His name is _______. His _________ is __________. He is ___________________. Also, ________ is as __________ as a ____________.

This is my dog. His name is Skip. His fur is black. He is small. Also, Skip is as fast as a cheetah.

The second thing I’d like to apologize for is I can not figure out how to put pictures on here. I will look more into it this week and see if I can get help from another teacher.

Great Job This Week

Hello Families,

Can I just say all of you have done a great job this week. Students and parents, I really appreciate all the hard work you have done. I can see what a priority your kids (and their education is to you). We (teachers) have needed a lot of support from you since this virus and I think everyone has been doing the best they can with all of this. Please celebrate somehow as a family because all of you deserve a pat on the back.

I really enjoyed the “google meets” session on Wednesday. I’d like to do another one, same day and time. However, we have been asked to put it on hold until further notice. Some older students (not elementary kids) were not displaying proper behavior at their google hangouts or google meets, so the district is looking into how they can remedy that situation so it does not occur again. I will keep you posted. So as of right now that is a tentative date. If we get to do it, I’d like for it to be a show and tell. I’d like students to share with the class a pet they have at home (no pet, then choose a stuffed animal, doll, or action figure), by showing it to us and then providing 3 adjectives (describing words), that describe their pet. They can choose one of these 2 ways to present the adjectives or if they have their own way, they can do that too.

Example 1. This is my ________. His name is _________. He is, ____________, _____________, and _____________.

3-adjectives soft, cuddly, fast

This is my cat. His name is Rex. He is soft, cuddly, and fast.

Example 2. This is my _______. His name is _______. His _________ is __________. He is ___________________. Also, ________ is as __________ as a ____________.

3-adjectives-black, small, fast

This is my dog. His name is Skip. His fur is black. He is small. Also, Skip is as fast as a cheetah.

I will try to get pictures on here tomorrow or Sunday that you have sent me so you can see some student work. I will be putting up the new schedule sometime this weekend.

I want to say “Happy Ramadan” to those of you who celebrate and even if you don’t 😉

Some of the staff have made a “Happy Ramadan” video. Please enjoy.

You can find it under Class Links

Stay Healthy and have a great weekend!
