Remote Learning Schedule Week 4
Happy Monday parents and students! I hope you were all able to enjoy family time, the outdoors, and relax over Spring Break. I know a lot of us were unable to keep our plans that we had for vacation or what not, but I’m thankful we had sunshine and warm weather a few of the days here. I hope everyone is staying healthy and safe at home.
Now that we have heard that school is cancelled for the year, which makes me beyond sad and upset, we are waiting to hear the plan for remote learning for the remaining school year. Things may change or look different in the next couple of weeks, just waiting on word from the district. For now, we are sticking to our usual plan and weekly schedule. Please know that I will do my very best to provide you with the resources and looking for ways to reach and teach your child while we are not in the classroom.
For this week, Week 27 Spelling Words are linked on the schedule and there is a Seesaw activity to do, along with the daily tic-tac-toe board. For Writing, I have created 2 Narrative writing activities on Seesaw for the first 2 days, then your child will use an Opinion blueprint to write about “What 3 Things they miss the most about the classroom?” For Math, we are moving on to Module 6- multiplication and division. I have linked videos and the link to Module 6 workbook. I’m hoping that if things calm down, there will be a day to pick up your students’ workbooks and other supplies, it will make our lives much easier once we have these resources. For now, if you’re able to print or just use loose-leaf paper to solve the problems on is fine. For Reading, going on i-Ready daily is a great way for your child to review and learn the 2nd grade standards. Also, reading every day for at least 20 min is highly encouraged. For Readworks, I have added Science and Social Studies passages that pertain to the 2nd grade standards. There are comprehension questions that I check daily.
Don’t forget to have your child take time to visit the Music, Art, Media, and Gym blogs and do some of those fun activities. Please remember this is a suggested schedule 🙂 If you have any questions, never hesitate. I will set up another Zoom meeting for later in the week.
Here is the schedule for this week:
