New Schedule-Starting Next Week for Free breakfast and lunch

Dearborn Public Schools is offering free pickup lunch and breakfast for students while school is closed for the mandatory shut down over the next few weeks.

Families will be able to stop in and pick up a bag with both breakfast and lunch for each child in the family.  Pickups will run Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to noon at Fordson, Edsel Ford, Dearborn high school, McCollough-Unis, Salina Intermediate, and Woodworth Middle School.

Mondays, students will receive breakfast and lunch for Monday and Tuesday.

Wednesdays, students will receive breakfast and lunch for Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Fridays, students will receive breakfast and lunch for Friday Saturday and Sunday.

Helping Our Community During Urgent Times of Need Households with children who are in need of food are encouraged to attend our upcoming drive-thru food distribution sponsored by Gleaners Community Food Bank.Please stay in your vehicle to limit exposure. Groceries will be placed into your trunk or back seat. Guests without vehicles are welcome to walk up, but should be prepared to carry 20-30 pounds or have a cart.

Round 2 Chromebook pick up for our Lowrey families

This is only for Lowrey Students! 

If your family does not have a working computer and is in need of a chromebook then please come to Lowrey’s main doors, tomorrow Friday March 20th between times of 12:30pm to 2pm. If you already picked one up, please don’t come again.  One Chromebook per household! 
All parents will need to sign a consent form to insure chromebooks will be returned in the same condition they were given. All parents and students are responsible for the chromebooks. They must be returned once students return to school.

Chromebook Distribution

Lowrey School will be distributing Chromebooks to families in order to support their child’s remote Learning. Each Chromebook was checked and cleaned by admin and personnel to ensure that they are safe to be used. Please note that chromebooks need a working internet connection. If your family does not have a working computer and is in need of a chromebook then please come to Lowrey’s main doors, TODAY Thursday March 19th between times of 11:30am to 3pm. One chromebook per household! All parents will need to sign a consent form to insure chromebooks will be returned in the same condition they were given. All parents and students are responsible for the chromebooks. They must be returned once students return to school.

Online Learning

Hello Parents and Students,

With all that is going on, I want to thank you for being very supportive and flexible during this difficult time. As always I want you to know that we are partnerships in your child’s education especially during this time. This is all still very new for teachers as well. Below is an introduction and the expectations for what the next couple of weeks will look like. I will do my best to keep you updated along the way with any changes. PLEASE do reach out to me through email, Remind, Google Classroom, or the iBlog if you have any questions or concerns along the way. We are in this together! I will be available Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to talk/answer questions/ help students and communicate with parents.

***PEASE STAY SAFE AND LIMIT PUBLIC GATHERINGS AND PLACES DURING THIS TIME.

Introduction:

This blog will be the platform of communication for the next couple of weeks. As students, have been using Google Classroom I will continue to post information and assignments. Your child will also need to be able to get on CLEVER. You can locate Clever on the Dearborn website in the student portal as well as on my iBlog. Please let me know if you need help accessing Clever.

Expectations:

Please make sure to check the blog daily for assignments or updates. It is very important to keep up on these assignments, this will be critical to keeping your child on point over this break. There are no specific times students must be working on these assignments. It is flexible with your schedules. There are just days to follow when items are due. I will contact you if these assignments are not being turned in on time. Students are required to read their library book daily, continue reading at least 30 minutes, and I encourage you to write a short summary after each read.
