Poem of the week
Colors Crackle, Colors Roar
Red shouts a loud, balloon-round sound.
Black crackles like noisy grackles.
Café clickety-clicks its wooden sticks.
Yellow sparks and sizzles, tzz-tzz.
White sings, Ay, her high, light note.
Verde rustles leaf secrets, swish swish.
Gris whis-whis-whispers its kitten whiskers.
Silver ting-ting-a-ling jingles.
Azul coo-coo-coos like pajaritos do.
Purple thunders and rum-rum-rumbles.
Oro blares, a brassy, brass tuba.
Orange growls its striped, rolled roar.
Colors Crackle. Colors Roar.

For this week, we decided to revisit the letter “H”. We finished coloring, tracing, finding & highlighting, sounding out, and matching all the worksheets of the letter “H”. We also worked on answering, “What book did we read?” and “Who was the story about?” questions. We read “The Wind Blew” book by “Pat Hutchins”. For “Core First Learning” series, we learned about the core words “I & Not”, and we read “Not From Here” book from that series. For math comprehension, we reviewed counting 1-10 by using different manipulatives, and listened to counting songs. We also started the topics of “Greater than”, “Less than”, &”Equal to”.
We had a beautiful time at the Gym, Art, & Music.

Poem of the week
Something Told the Wild Geese
Something told the Wild Geese
It was time to go.
Though the fields lay golden
Something whispered — “Snow”.
Leaves were green and stirring,
Berries, luster-glossed,
But beneath warm feathers
Something cautioned –“Frost”.
Something told the wild geese
It was time to fly—-
Summer sun was on their wings,
Winter in their cry.

For this week, we explored the letter “H”. We learned how to sound, find, trace, & color the letter “H”. It was so fun to match pictures that start with letter “H” to their names. We also, learned that the name of two of our friends in our classroom starts with letter “H”, Heba & Hanin. Our craft for this week for letter “H” was “H is for Hearts”. We made our samples and put them inside our classroom, as well as, we made our poster and placed it outside the classroom. We also made a turkey out of a paper plate!
For reading comprehension, we answered “What book did we read?” and “What was the story about?”. Our story for this week was, “The Wind Blew” by Pat Hutchins. This week, we started a new core word from “Core First Learning” series, “NOT”. We also read “Not From Here” book.
For math comprehension, we started more than, less than, and equal concepts. We also reviewed counting numbers 1-10. For science, we reviewed the calendar vocabularies. We enjoyed going to the Gym, Art, & music.
Congratulations to our friend Esraa for being a student of the month of October. Responsibility was the character trait for the month of October.
Finally, it was so fun when we participated on the Halloween party on Monday!

For all this week, we continued on working on our letter of the week, the letter “G”. We learned that letter “G” is for “Grapes”, and we made our samples of this letter. We finished the decoration of our room with our crafts, we also decorated our wall outside the classroom with our letter “G” sample. For our reading comprehension, we answered “What book did we read?” and “Who were the characters of the story?”. To answer these questions, we used “We’re Going on a Leaf Hunt” book by Steve Metzger. We are doing great in learning our core words “I” and “Want”, and we are reading “Eat the Rainbow” book from “Core First Learning” series. In math, we counted numbers 1-10, listened to a counting song, rolled a dice and counted different objects. In science, we learned about weather and calendar words. This week’s special was visiting the DIA museum in Detroit. We had a fundamental and educational time during our visit. We visited and had a great time in Gym, Art, & Music. Big shouts & thanks for Mrs. Kimberly White for helping out during our field trip to the DIA museum. We appreciate you Mrs. Kim:)

Poem of the week
Teeny Tiny Ghost
A teeny tiny ghost
no bigger than a mouse,
at most,
lived in a great big house.
It’s hard to haunt
a great big house
when you’re a teeny tiny ghost
no bigger than a mouse,
at most.
He did what he could do.
So every dark and stormy night—
the kind that shakes a house with fright—
if you stood still and listened right,
you’d hear a
teeny
tiny
BOO!

Hello, Friends & Families!
Poem of the week
Pumpkin picking
Let’s go picking in the pumpkin patch.
Now we’re jiggling the old gate latch.
Gate swings wide and we step inside.
Pumpkins spread like an ocean tide.
You take the one like a fat ballon.
I’ll take the one like an orange moon.
hike to the house in fifty paces.
Then we’ll carve out the pumpkin faces.

What Was Happening?
We focused on letter “F” this week. We traced, colored, sounded out, and discovered different items that start with this week’s letter, the letter “F”. We made the letter “F” craft, and we placed our sample on the wall outside our classroom, as well as inside the classroom. We are still watching our tree leaves how they change color/status. The leaves are already turned dry and their color is turning to black. We practiced counting numbers (1-10), and we used different manipulatives for counting. For reading comprehension, we answered “What book did we read?” and “Who was the book about?” questions, and we used “I Know an Old lady who swallowed a pie” book. We also are still learning our core words, “I” & “Want” by using our core learning book “When I Want” from the “Core first Learning” series. For science, we are learning about seasons, weather, and calendar words. We did an amazing job in Gym, Art, and music.
