The Week of 11/15/2021 Exploration

Hello, Families

Poem of the week

What If……

What if …..

You opened a book

About dinosaurs

And one stumbled out

And another andanother

And more and more pour

Until the whole place

Is bumbling and rumbling

And groaning and moaning

And snoring and roaring

And dinosouring?

What if …….

You tried to push them

Back inside

But they kept tromping

Off the pages instead?

Would you close the covers?

What was happening?

The explorers in room #107 were discovering all the magic about the letter of the week, the letter G. They have been working very hard in tracing, coloring, matching, sounding out, and identifying the letter G. Using construction papers, they made letter G as a shape of a gumball machine. And “Gumball” starts with the letter “G”.

In this week, my friends started their “My thankful mini-book”. They colored and wrote two things that they are thankful for, family and food. Since we are in the spirit of Thanksgiving, my explorers enjoyed a new book that talks about some items we might be thankful for. The title of the book is “Hooray for Thanksgiving”, and the author is “Roger Priddy”. Here is a picture of the book

To improve our reading comprehension, we used this book to answer questions such as, “Who was the character in the story?”, “When did the story take place?”, “Where did the story take place?”, and “what was the story about?”. In Math, we counted feathers, completed patterns, and learned about greater than/less than.
