Greetings, Friends & Families!
Poem of the week
Thanksgiving
Thank you
for all my hands can hold—
apples red,
and melons gold,
yellow corn
both ripe and sweet,
peas and beans
so good to eat!
Thank you
for all my eyes can see—-
lovely sunlight,
field and tree,
white cloud-boats
in the sea-deep sky,
soaring bird
and butterfly,
Thank you
for all my ears can hear—-
birds’ song echoing
far and near,
songs of little
stream, big sea,
cricket, bullfrog,
duck and bee!

What was happening?
Since it was a very short week, the explorers in room 107 continued their learning of the letter G. They continued their tracing, coloring, identifying, and sounding out the letter of the week, the letter G. They also had the opportunity to practice their counting and comparing two groups of items for greater than and less than. For their reading comprehension, they were able to pick their answers from two choices that were presented to them. The questions my explorers answered were “what was the story about?”, “who was the character?”, and “when/where did the story take place?”. All these questions were about the story, “Hooray for Thanksgiving”.
The explorers had so much fun making and wearing their turkey hats. During the month of November, my explorers were very busy in Art class, they were able to make their favorite slice of pie and place it on a plate, a pumpkin, a turkey, and many more.
Now, it is time to enjoy this week’s pictures:
District Update
In our efforts to be proactive the district has asked us to notify our families and prepare for the possibility of distance/online learning. This does not mean that distance/online learning is certain to occur. However, we are planning for all possibilities. A decision for a class, school, or the district to move to online learning could occur at any point in time as we see the COVID 19 Rates increasing in Dearborn, the County, and the State level. Please keep an eye on your emails, district website, and classroom blog for any updates as we go into the Holiday break. Thank you so much for your understanding and flexibility as we continue to wade through the challenges of this pandemic. If you need anything please reach out to me at asadi@dearbornschools.org, or by phone.
