Friday 9/21 Important Notes

A chart was sent home with your student that shows their NWEA math and reading scores. The red pen indicates your students score and the yellow highlighter indicates where they should be at the beginning of the year in first grade.

As the year progresses the scores will increase and so it is very important that student scores increase in order to keep up with the first grade level. Students will be tested a total of three times.

If your student is not at grade level then work on improving their math and reading skills by extra practice, attention to homework tasks, and encouraging them to do well in class. Any improvement is success and while it may not be possible for your student to be at grade level they should work on improving their score

A homework check list also went home with the students. This will show you what they have been turning in for the week. Remember spelling is to be done daily and recorded in their spelling notebook. Please make sure they bring the notebook to school and don’t forget to sign your name on top of the page when they have finished their homework.
