Comerica Bank launches ‘Thanks for Teachers’ contest, giving away $10,000 in classroom supplies
DETROIT (Oct. 12, 2017) – Comerica Bank is accepting entries for its new ‘Thanks for Teachers’ contest. Teachers in Oakland, Macomb and Wayne counties are eligible to enter the contest to win classroom supplies. Up to three teachers will win, splitting the $10,000 give away evenly.
Comerica Bank will award three teachers with $3,335 each in school supplies to enhance creativity and learning in the classroom.
Essay entries explaining why your teacher deserves this award can be made on Comerica’s Facebook page until 11:59 p.m. EST Monday, November 6, 2017.
The ‘Thanks for Teachers’ program was established to recognize deserving teachers and encourage the community to support local educators. Community members – including school administration, fellow teachers, parents and students – are invited to nominate a teacher who is making a significant impact on the lives of their students. Teachers can also nominate themselves.
“Our educators play an important role in shaping our future leaders. We want to help ensure they have the proper tools and resources needed to create a welcoming environment that promotes discovery in the classroom and allows students to flourish,” said Michael T. Ritchie, president, Comerica Bank-Michigan. “Comerica recognizes the dedication and hard work of teachers and we’re grateful to have local educators who enrich the lives of their students every day.”
Community members can begin nominating educators Oct. 12. The entries will be reviewed by a panel of judges from Comerica Bank. The winners will be notified by Friday, Nov. 17.
All preschool, primary and secondary teachers in Oakland, Macomb and Wayne counties are eligible for nomination. For more information and to enter, visit www.facebook.com/Comerica.
