This week, I will continue with my basketball unit. The 3rd-5th grade classes will lean and practice passing in a variety of ways during their first class of the week. To finish the first class of the week, they will play a ten passes game that will be very similar to a basketball game without shooting. During the second class of the week, they will play team hand ball. This is an Olympic sport that uses a combination of basketball and soccer skills. The kindergarten-2nd grade classes will continue my basketball unit this week and will focus on learning and practicing shooing in a variety of ways that will be developmentally appropriate for their ability and grade level.
This week, I will be focusing on basketball skills with all of my classes. The main skills I will focus on will be the hand dribble and passing. I will have the students learn and practice these skills in ways that will be developmentally appropriate for their grade and skill level.
My 4th and 5th grade classes will also be taking my basketball unit pre-assessment on google classroom this week. Once they take the pre-assessment, I will begin reviewing for the post-assessment throughout the unit.
This week, I will finish up my football unit with my 3rd-5th grade classes. To finish the unit, all of the students will get to wear a flag football belt and play a flag tag game. They will also practice a football drill that will have the quarterback, center, receiver, and defensive back positions. During the drill, the students will get to pull a flag during the drill to try to stop the receiver from scoring a touchdown. The Kindergarten-2nd grade classes will start my basketball unit this week. The main skill they will all focus on will be the hand dribble. I will have each class practice the skill in ways that will be developmentally appropriate for their grade and skill level.
