Physical Education Class for the Week of May 30th-June 2nd

To start the week I will have all of my 3rd-5th grade class doing stations.   This will give me the opportunity to access the fourth marking period object control skill for their level.  Once I am finished with the stations during the first class of the week , then I will have them play a softball game.  My Kindergarten-2nd grade classes did their stations last week, so they will play a softball game during their class or classes this week.  I will modify the softball game being played, so that it is developmentally appropriate for each grade level.

Physical Education Class for the Week of May 22nd-25th

This week all of my classes will continue to lean and practice skills related to softball.  The classes will practice the skills with activities and games that I feel are at their ability level.  This will help the students to build confidence, so that way they will feel comfortable moving on to more difficult ones in the future.

My 4th and 5th graders that passed the one mile run will also continue to take the rest of the tests for the presidential physical fitness award.  If they are able to pass all five tests then they will receive the award at the end of the school year.  The 5th graders will receive the award at their graduation on June 16th.

Physical Education Class for the Week of May 15th-19th

I will continue to have all of my classes work on softball skills.  I will focus on having the students learn about throwing, catching, and batting.  Then the students will have many opportunities to practice all of those skills in a variety of ways.  This will include them practicing the skills in drills and games that will help them to increase their performance for their ability level during their classes this week.

Jump Rope for Heart 2017

I am very pleased to announce that the Howard students raised an outstanding amount of $2600.  The money they raised will go to the American Heart Association to help fund research to fight heart disease and stroke.  I would like to thank everyone that donated this year!!

Thank you,
