Our first tournament will be in the Howard cafeteria on Wednesday, February 12th from 4 to 5 p.m.  The final two tournaments will be on Wednesday, February 26th and Wednesday, March 5th at the same time and place.  If we have the best record out of those tournaments, then we will be invited to the district championship on Tuesday, March 18th from 3:30 – 6 p.m. at the ASC boardroom.

These two grades will be working on their loco motor skill (sliding) and their object control skill (catching) this marking period.  I will also have them working with the parachute for the next few weeks.  Once the 2nd grade is done with their volleyball unit, they will move into this same unit.

All of my 3rd-5th grade classes at this time of the school year are working on volleyball skills.  The main skill for all classes will be the underhand strike/serve.  Once I have taught all of the skills, the students will start their games.  The 2nd/3rd grades will play with the beach ball and the 4th/5th grades will play with the regular ball.  If I feel the 3rd grades are doing a good job with the beach ball, I will move them to the regular ball the last class.
