Hello all,

Firstly, please refer to the Google Classroom for the following announcement.

I just wanted to remind everyone that the work we are doing is on the EnVision website (instructions on how to get there are on my iBlog). Each week we will complete one lesson, take our own notes as we read and work through the examples, take a lesson quiz, then go through the remediation activity that will be automatically assigned to you after each quiz. You should be able to see in the “Classes” tab that I have assigned the examples, but there are also additional examples in the “Browse” tab (where you find the Interactive Student Edition). We are currently working through Topic 11: Data Analysis and Statistics and we will be doing 11-1 this week, 11-2 next week, and 11-3 the week after.

Do note that your grade is not 100% based off of your quiz grades, but I will be largely basing it off of the remediation activity after the quiz too. I am much more concerned with your improvement throughout the week than I am concerned with one quiz a week.

I am going to be making a post each week where you can ask questions you have related to the content we are learning and I and other classmates may answer them. Remember that I am also always available to talk through email (feightj@dearbornschools.org) so feel free to email me any time.

Hello!

Today we spent a lot of the hour on trying and understanding how to graph one cycle of sine and cosine. Some big take-aways from today are (1) how to graph, (2) how to label the graph based off the period, and (3) what the difference is between a sine graph and a cosine graph.

The video here can help you with graphing sine and cosine too.

I’ll be checking in the homework on Monday. We will have time tomorrow to work on it in class too.

Go on and conquer!

Hello!

Today we learned about the features of sine and cosine graphs, namely period, amplitude, and midline.

The homework tonight is #11, 14-15, 18, and 22.

Hello!

Today we started part 2 of Unit 7, all about graphing sine and cosine functions. Today’s notes are self-guided, so fill them out on your own. You may use a calculator to fill out the tables, then use the table to plot the coordinate points to see what sine and cosine look like when graphed out.

Tomorrow we will talk about features of the graph and transformations too.

Homework tonight is simply to finish filling out the notes below.

Hello!

Today was the last day of review before the test on Monday. We did the scavenger hunt below so that we could do these problems and quickly check if we are doing them correctly or not.

Hello!

Today we made our own study guide from the questions below as well as questions from our notes and other homework assignments.

Hello!

Today we continued using angles in the coordinate grid to make triangles and find sine, cosine, and tangent on the coordinate grid as well.

The homework is #20-22, and 26 below, it is also on the Pearson website.

Hello!

Today we learned how to draw angles on the coordinate grid and what a radian is.

Here is a good video on radians if you would like to watch it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cgPYLJ-s5II

The homework tonight is #27-36 from book page 374.

Today we took time to practice using sine, cosine, and tangent, as well as the Pythagorean Theorem.

If you did not finish the tickets, please finish those for homework. If you were working on the extension activity, finish that for homework to the best of your ability.

Hello!

Today we learned about the special right triangles (45-45-90 and 30-60-90) and the ratios that those triangles share to hopefully make our life easier in the future (means we can do less math overall).

The homework is #18, 19 23, 24, 25, 30, and 31 below. NOTE on questions that say “six trigonometric ratios” or “trigonometric ratios” we only need to worry about sine, cosine, and tangent. The other 3 are less important for this class.
