There will be a rep from Henry Ford College coming to Edsel on Thursday, February 17th. If you are attending HFC in the fall and are interested in getting information on applying to the college and scholarships, come to the counseling office to sign up. Spots are limited!
The Ladies of the Islamic Center of America’s Luncheon Committee is excited to announce its sixth annual scholarship program, and fundraising luncheon. The committee strives to foster the achievement of all model Muslim women in the community, and we believe an essential component to such achievement lies in the education of our young ladies.
This year, the scholarship is open to young Muslim high school senior ladies with plans to attend college. Students will have the opportunity to compete for $1000 scholarship towards college expenses (respectively).The committee will select one student from each of the following Dearborn-Dearborn Heights high schools–Dearborn, Edsel, Fordson, and Crestwood High–who demonstrates exceptional merit, leadership, and upholds values of a young Muslim ladies of strength (i.e. kindness, generosity, patience, etc) as the scholarship winners. Winners will be presented a check and honored at our annual luncheon on Saturday, March 5, 2022. The winner will be granted two tickets to attend the luncheon as our guest.

Attached is the application for the Metropolitan Detroit Bureau of School Studies Inc. Annual Scholarship Award. Interested students in your district can complete and submit this application. The form can be printed and copied as necessary to meet your needs. The application can also be downloaded at www.metrobureau.org.
To be eligible students must:
a. Be a graduating senior from a high school of a Metro Bureau member school district.
b. Intend to enroll at one of the following Metro Bureau Member Colleges/Universities:
Ø Oakland University
Ø Wayne County Community College District
Ø Wayne State University
Scholarship award amount will be $1,000. A matching amount may be made by the college/university for those students entering the field of education. Recipients will be required to provide proof of acceptance at one of the institutions listed above.
Successful scholarship recipients will receive their scholarship award in their local school district this spring.
