This is a fun and busy week! Our field trip is Monday, May 6 and begins at 10am. Coming from Dearborn, it takes about 30 minutes to get there. Try to arrive in the parking lot by 9:45 so you have time to walk over to the barn. The field trip is at Real Life Farm at 48700 Geddes Road in Canton.
For the MWF class, we have our Kindergarten lunch day on Wednesday, May 8 at 11am. Please arrive at our normal door at 10:55 and I will let you in. Hopefully the weather will be nice and we will have lunch recess afterwards, then come back to class and read a book before we head home.
This week, we will be talking about numbers and where we see them in the real world.
Duvall is counting down the days until the end of the year with ABC spirit days. This is voluntary, but if you would like to participate, please see the list below. Have fun!
I will be sending home a letter tomorrow with your child. Please make sure to read this and send the bottom portion back with your child’s lunch choice. First choice will be chicken patty and second choice will be strawberry yogurt parfait. I have to have a lunch count for the cafeteria by Friday. Thanks so much!
Marilyn’s mom and dad have volunteered for the picnic! They need a head count ASAP, so if you can just fill out the Google Doc attached to this in the next day or so, that would be great. As soon as we have a head count, Marilyn’s mom will be able to get a price from the caterer and pass that info on to you. Thank you so much!
On Wednesday, May 8 we will be having a very special day. At 11:00, we will be having lunch in the cafeteria just like Kindergarteners. We ask that every child have an adult attend this event, as it is as much for them as it is for you. Your preschooler will be able to have a free lunch and experience what it’s like to move through the lunch line. You will have the opportunity to ask questions about lunch. Even if DuVall isn’t your home school, this can still be very beneficial for you and your child. Mrs. Lackey and I will be sending home a letter with more information soon.
The MWF class will be learning about fairytales and elements of them (character, setting, problem, solution). We will be listening to oral tellings of the traditional stories as well as reading them in books. There are so many variations in fairytales!
Child’s Hope is hosting a free event for families that took part in one of their in-school programs. If you and your family have time, consider registering for the event!
