Dear Parent(s) / Guardian(s),
Welcome Back! I hope you had a fantastic summer and I am looking forward to an exciting new year with your child. My name is Ms. Dexter and I am happy to be at Salina Intermediate for my third year and my ninth year of teaching. I have taught second, fourth, and fifth grade at a charter school. I have my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a focus on Language Arts and Health Education from Eastern Michigan University. I will be graduating in April with my Master’s degree in ESL from Western Michigan University. I look forward to meeting with you and your child for a successful year.
My expectations are set high for each and every student in both their behavior and academic responsibility for a safe and conducive learning environment. Some important things to remember are manners, following directions, being responsible, being kind and respectful to others. Class Dojo will be used to track student behavior and for parent communication.
My goals for all students will be to complete all assignments, become independent by following oral and written directions, be punctual, become self-confident by giving your very best, being a leader, and lastly have an excellent year!
Below is a list of supplies that each student is recommended to bring in. Some supplies will be shared in the classroom, but it is highly recommended that students bring in the following:
- 2 packages of lined paper
