11/5/18 – Map of Asia Due Today!

Good Morning and Happy First Day of Card Marking 2!

Today in class, we will begin the hour by collecting our GS 2.1 worksheet. We will then review our vocabulary words and essential question for this card marking, followed by working on our Maps of Asia that are due at the end of the hour!

11/2 Last day of Card Marking 1!

Good Morning!

We made it to the end of Card Marking 1! Wahoo! Conferences will be held on Monday November, 12th and Wednesday, November 14th this year. I look forward to seeing you all there. As far as grades go, grades are pretty much set with the exception of today’s bell work! I will be posting grades today and Monday for the card marking. Today in class, we will begin the hour by collecting any Geoskills 2.1 worksheets (more than half the students turned them in yesterday), we will then be matching vocabulary as a class in a game. Students yesterday received an A-Z booklet, where we will define, illustrate and write in a sentence for 24 various vocabulary words. 11/1 – Chapter 3 Test Today!

Good Morning!

As a HUGE reminder, card marking 1 ends tomorrow. If you will be absent for ANY reason at all tomorrow, you will need to turn your bellwork in before you go and see me for the in class assignment we are beginning.

Today in class, we will begin the hour by reviewing the G/S 2.1 worksheet very quickly. We will then take our Chapter 3 Test, followed by the Chapter 4-7 pretest! The grades will be on student/parent connect this afternoon! The grades you will see today will will most likely be your card marking 1 grade. Very few changes will be left minus tomorrows bell work grade!

10/31 Happy Halloween Review!

Good Morning!

10/30 – Checking the Chapter 3 Study Guide Today! Test Thursday!

Good Morning!

Today in class, we will begin the hour by going over what will be on our test. It will consist of 26 questions, multiple choice, matching vocabulary and the short answer of “Can you explain how the development of agriculture changed daily life in the Neolithic Age?” We will then review the Chapter 3 Cornell Notes summary and practice writing our essential question. We will then check our study guide at the end of the hour today! We will play Jeopardy tomorrow to help us study!

Homework: 1. Study for your Chapter 3 Test on Thursday! 2. All of Chapter 3 Cornell Notes completed! 3. Write out the CH 3 EQ Practice 4 times total! 4. Bring in gluesticks for EC!

10/29 Trading in the Neolithic Age!

Good Morning! I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!

This is the last week of card marking one, the first card marking ends this Friday the 2nd. Make sure you have turned in all late work and missing work to your classes! Conferences will be held on Monday November 12th and Wednesday November 14th. 

SURPRISE! On Friday, we had a pop quiz in class, the grades are available today, but I cannot give them back because not everyone has taken them yet. Today in class, we will begin the hour by adding items in to our notebook. Chapter3EQpractice Students must write the answer to the essential question 5 times in order to practice for Thursday’s test. We will then finish Chapter 3 by reading and discussing 3.7 and our chapter 3 packet and cornell notes. We will then finish the hour by working on our study guide, writing out the Chapter 3 EQ, and Chapter 3 Packet(that is due today!)!

10/26 TGIF!

Good Morning!

Today in class, we will begin the hour by going over the test that we will be taking on Thursday. The test will worth 30 points – the test will include multiple choice, matching of vocabulary, and a short answer of “Can you explain how the development of agriculture changed daily life in the Neolithic Age?”.  We will learn about the jobs and trading that were developed during the Neolithic Age and work on our Chapter 3 Cornell Notes and Chapter 3 Packet if time permits!

10/25 Establishing Communities and Permanent Shelter

Good Morning!

Today in class, we will begin the hour by  getting the Chapter 3 Study Guide, we will check it on October 30th, and take the test next Friday the 2nd StudyGuideChapter3! We will then be reviewing how the Neolithic Age gained a permanent food supply and page 1 of the Chapter 3 packet. We will then read about permanent shelters and establishing communities.

Homework:  1. Read Pages 30 and 31 and complete pages 4 and 5 of the packet.(all pages done besides 6!) 2. Fill in the questions, connections and key words on your Chapter 3 Cornell Notes! 3. Bring in glue sticks for Extra Credit! (Will explain how to bring them in for extra credit)

10/24 – Chapter 3 Vocabulary Maps!

Good Morning!

Today in class, we will begin the hour by reviewing Chapter 3.2 notes. We will then take a short quiz as a class over if we would survive as a hunter or gatherer, followed by making vocabulary map as groups! These vocabulary maps students will need to define the word, illustrate the word, use the word in a sentence and give some type of example with it. If time permits, we will begin to discuss permanent food supply (3.3).

Homework:  1. Read Pages 28-29 and complete pages 2 and 3 of the packet. (pages 1-3)2. Fill in the questions, connections and key words on your Chapter 3 Cornell Notes!

10/23 SAFE Presentations!

Good Morning!

Today in class, we will enter the Chapter 3 notes in our notebook, we will be having a guest speaker present to us for most of the hour! If time permits, we will work on our Chapter 3 Packet/Chapter 3 Notes.

Update, we did complete the Chapter 3.2 Notes as a class, it is here in the event that you missed them!
