Happy Constitution Day!

1.) Bell Work for 09-17-18:

If you could add 3 Amendments to the Constitution, what would you add? Why?

2.) Discuss Constitution & the Bill of Rights briefly as a review.

3.) Bill of Rights video on BrainPop.

4.) Students create a mini-poster (alone or with a partner) about one specific Amendment. Interactive Constitution link.

Posters must include:
a.) The Amendment number
b.) An explanation in your own words of what the Amendment means
c.) An example of how it applies today
d.) At least one colorful picture related to the Amendment’s meaning

Classwork for 09-13-18

1.) Bell Work for 09-13-18:

Define the word religion in your own words.
How do you know if something is a religion?

2.) Students share Bell Work answers with their tablemates.

3.) Each table will create a definition of religion as a group to share with the class.

4.) As a class we will read & discuss various definitions of the word religion together.

5.) Tables will write a final definition for the word religion on one of the Post-It notes in their table’s basket and then post it on the wall.

6.) If time, students can work on their Vocabulary Booklets.

Reminder: Tomorrow, Friday the 14th, is a HALF DAY wit ha 10:25am dismissal.

For each unit we will have up to 10 vocabulary words that we will put into a vocabulary booklet. Each booklet will be 2-3 pages folded in half. The Front Cover will include the Unit Title, Student Name, Hour, and Date. Each page in the booklet will have one of the vocabulary words on it in a Frayer Model format. Below is an example of the format.
