Our Unit 2 test will be on Thursday, November 5, 2015. Our test will cover 3 digit adding and subtracting, number patterns, and adding 3 -2 or 3 digit numbers together. A study guide will come home with your student to practice the skills on the test.

The PTA is hosting a Spirit Friday this week. Pay $1.00 and your child may dress up in an appropriate costume on Friday, October 30. Absolutely NO makeup, face masks, fake weapons, wings or any other accessories. This participation is voluntary.
Students can begin reviewing for the geography test. My class is on Friday and Ms. Hammoud’s class is on Wednesday. If you click on the class link-Geography of Michigan Review your student can study using this game.
A very useful tool for working on math facts, fractions and other 3rd grade math skills is found at this web site. A link is provided for easy access. For today’s homework practicing adding and subtracting 2 or 3 digits is found under addition C.1. It is not necessary to subscribe to this site because a student is allowed a 20 minute practice session every day and this should be a sufficient amount of time to work on a particular skill.
We will be having a social studies quiz this week. You child will come home with a review to study. Ms. Hammoud’s class will be on Wednesday and Mrs. Bridgeman’s class on Thursday. It covers positive and negative uses of water and forests. Also, about two types of region maps in Michigan.
Our words have the short and long u pattern this week. Our words are bug, bunch, cube, thump, abuse, speed, force, motion, addition, subtraction.
Our Social Studies review is going on in class. The first part of the review will be available here.
We have been studying Michigan geography and natural resources. Students will also come home with a review for them to study. Our quiz will be on Tuesday. Click on this link to study for our quiz Natural Resources Review 1 Name
Our math test will be on Friday. It covers time, elapsed time ( using a number line), and graphing (bar graphs). A review will go home with students on Wednesday evening for them to complete. The review will say pretest and have a grade on it. Please ignore the score it does not count and have your child complete any question that is incorrect. So encourage your child to practice each question with different numbers as you study with them.
