Our son has arrived!

To my dear, amazing students and your families,

As you know, my son arrived on January 20th, 2016 at 2:54pm– right when you all were being dismissed from your last block classes! He was 19 inches and 6 pounds and 3 ounces. He was born at 37 weeks and 4 days, a little earlier than we expected. So far, he is doing absolutely great and he fills our days with joy and fun. I can’t wait for you all to meet him! I loved being a teacher because it gave me a chance to take care of so many young people like yourselves everyday and although baby Mulhim is my first child, I see you all as my children and will miss you during my time off.

Speaking of my time off… you better behave!!! 😉 The substitute teachers I have picked out for you are great and you will continue to learn a lot from them so long as you stay focused and do your part. I know that you all are the most helpful and kind group of students  I have ever taught and that you will help the sub know the routines of our classroom that we have worked so hard on (caddy clean-up, material distribution, homework review, partner work etc.) I will check in with the substitute everyday. So far, Ms. Bazzi said that you all were wonderful and had a great time with the team building day. Mr. Alabakoff sent me some pictures and you all looked awesome! It made me miss everyone even more!

I check my email every couple of days and you are welcome to email me whenever you would like. I will do my best to respond when baby Mulhim isn’t taking up my attention 🙂 My email address is alasryk@dearbornschools.org. Also I shared some pictures with Ms. Bazzi so she can show you them after winter break.

If you are celebrating Christmas, I hope you have a Merry Christmas! And Happy New Year to everyone! Let’s make 2017 our best year ever. Let’s have a growth mindset and realize that whatever we achieved or didn’t achieve  in 2016 is in the past and we should only take the good from our past and focus on working hard for a great future. Welcome, 2017! Work hard these next few weeks and I will be back soon!

Wishing you all of the best,

Mrs. Alasry
