First Week of School!

Greetings students and families! Welcome to my blog šŸ™‚ This will be a tool for sharing, discussing, and displaying the happenings of our Math classroom.

Students took home an “About Me” survey and I learned so much about our students by reading them. I learned about your hobbies, interests, cultures, and the qualities a Math teacher should have. Ā A bunch of you left me some questions so here are the answers…

  1. “Do you love working here?”Ā Yes, I truly do. I love our community and I love pushing students to fulfill their potential.
  2. “Are you strict?” I, often, am strict but sometimes I loosen up. I am strict because I have very high expectations for all of Stout’s students. The human mind is amazing and I want to see you use more and more of it!
  3. “Are you giving us a study guide for the test?” We will be using an interactive notebook that will be full of awesome study tools to help you lock in learning!
  4. “Do you have any children?” Yes, about 80 of them šŸ˜‰ I don’t have any children of my own, but I have all of my students who I see as part of my fam now!!! Welcome to the family šŸ˜‰
  5. “Are you married? Yes, I am happily married.
  6. “Can we chew gum?” Unfortunately, I have found some gum under tables so that is a no.
  7. “What’s your favorite sport and animal?” I don’t watch many sports anymore. When Steve Young left the 49ers, I stopped playing football and when Micheal Jordan left the NBA, I stopped watching basketball (tearsssss!) However, I love playing many sports including basketball, football and tennis. I really dislike running and playing soccer!
  8. “What is your favorite hobby?” I love hiking, when I make time for it.
  9. “Do you provide help after school?” I will begin tutoring after school soon. Any student is welcome to sign up.

If there are any other questions, please do leave it in the comments or email me at alasryk@dearbornschools.org

Cheers to an amazing school year full of challengingĀ and fun work!
