WEEK 5 Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass-Chapters 6 and 7

Hello Studious Students, 

I hope your break was enjoyable. I am glad to see so many of you took advantage of the catch up week. I saw many assignments roll in. Spectacular job! Let’s keep the momentum going. We are almost at the finish line…let’s do this! I am posting week five of our unit. Also, don’t forget to complete bellwork and dialectical journals before June 7 for full credit in addition to weekly assignments. Instructions to these assignments are posted in google classroom. 

This week’s assignment will be due Monday morning, June 1 at 11am. I attached the assignment here, but it is also posted on google classroom and Remind. Please remember to submit assignment in google classroom. We are skipping chapter 5 and jumping into 6&7 (My favorite chapters and the most relevant in the his book in my opinion). We will study them together this week. Please read the assignment instructions thoroughly.

Welcome to our first official week of remote learning. This is not to say that everything we did prior to this will not count, but starting April 20th we are obligated to keep track of attendance and participation. Every Monday an assignment will be posted here and on google classroom. The assignment will be due by Sunday at 11:59pm. It must be submitted on google classroom. This week we will meet live during the scheduled times. Other times I may post a video I create for you to watch during these times. We are continuing to analyze text, but this time we are analyzing a book titled: Narrative of The Life of Frederick Douglass. I am really excited to begin this book with you.

Hello Everyone, I surely hope you are all safe and staying home. I miss you dearly. I can’t wait to see you all again. Thank you for submitting your article analysis on the article “Against Headphones.” I will also conduct a video session with you guys on Zoom to discuss the article. More info about that to come soon.

This week I will post an article to analyze as well. It is called “Let there be Dark”. It will be due Monday, March 30 at 11:59pm. We will use this article to learn how to write a rhetorical analysis essay and step 7. I will do a video session on this when you submit the analysis next week. Please continue to work on your bellwork and dialectical journals. Your work will count! Thanks!
