Newsletter for the Week of March 10th

Peek at the Week

  • Lots of fun this week with The View At The Zoo, by Kathleen Long Bostrom. So many fun things to go along with this story. Click on the button below to enjoy the story at home with your child Reading the same stories at home helps the students make a home/school connection and allows them the chance to let you know what they have been reading all week at school
  • For March is Reading Month we are reading Hiya Morah by victoria Nelson. This story is about a young girl’s life with special needs. Through her brave attitude, and silly humor, Morah is an inspiration for us all. This book has the timeless message about love and acceptance, and just saying “Hiya” when making a new friend with different abilities. Hiya Morah creates a space for children to celebrate how special and unique each of them were made to be.
  • Our U of M Friends from Creative Needs came and read to us about Pigeon and then made pigeons with us.
  • For math this month we are introducting measurements such as short and tall and working on sorting skills
  • The Unique Learning System topic for February is Life Science as we explore Zoo and Wild Animals
