- Our story this week was The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. In this story, a very hungry caterpillar eats his way through a number of foods during the course of a week. Finally, he enters his cocoon and emerges as a beautiful butterfly. This wonderful book addresses number sequences, quantity concepts, the days of the week, fool labels, as well as the stages of a butterfly’s life. The children used a button to read, “but he was still hungry.”
- We made a great big caterpillar addressing all the concepts stated above
- The Unique Learning System topic for the month of May is Life Science, Insects and How They Grow. We will be exploring all kinds of bugs and each of their life cycles.
- Our quail eggs are developing beautifully. We peeked inside a few of them with a bright light. So exciting for us.
- We had a perfect day of play at the park. We all had a great time
