Peek at the Week

  • Our story this week was, Little Excavator by Anna Dewdney. This story was a big hit with the children as we explore tools and construction this month.
  • We made muddy pudding and ran our construction trucks all through the mud. The kids had a blast and then we ate what was left over.
  • Each student made their own tool box as they identified hammer, screwdriver, saw and pliers correctly from an arry of 2 choices.
  • Our math focus this month is opposites. What’s Up Duck? is a great spring book to practice opposites.
  • The Unique Learning System topic for the month of April is Economics. We finished learn about tools and construction this week!

Classroom Changes

On Monday we welcome a new friend to our classroom family. Ayash just turned 3 this month. He is a happy little guy with a contagious laugh.

Peek at the Week

  • Our story this week was, Going on an Egg Hunt by Hands on Holiday Reading. We have so much fun with this story as it uses rhythms and hand movements of the classroom favorite We’re going on a Bear Hunt. This time it is eggs we are hunting for. It’s an ideal story for focusing on colors and spatial concepts and lending itself to all kinds of springtime fun. What child can resist an egg hunt? Certainly none of ours. So many giggles and laughs.
  • We made peep play dough to play with.
  • Our math focus this month is opposites. What’s Up Duck? is a great spring book to practice opposites.
  • The Unique Learning System topic for the month of April is Economics. We continue to learn about tools and construction which seems to be everywhere!

Hello Families!

We are so excited about Fridays all school field trip! We wanted to update you on the final plan so we all know what to do….

*If possible please wear a Howe school shirt OR red shirt so we can easily find each other throughout the day.

*Please drop your child off at Howe at the normal time (8:20 am) OR if they ride the bus do that as normal.

*Students will board the buses and leave around 9:15 am.

*All chaperones will be meeting us at the entrance benches at 9:30 am. Teachers will have the tickets for their classrooms to pass out.

*Once inside make sure you are walking around and finding other Howe friends. Work on completing the scavenger hunt!

*At 12:30 pm please meet in Lunchroom A. (This is in the hallway by Michigan Cafe).

*At 1:15 pm please meet back at the entrance READY TO LEAVE. (*If you want to sign out your child and not have them come back to Howe please come around 1:10 so we can sign you out before we load buses.)

*All students not signed out by a parent will be taken back to Howe and dismissed like normal at 3:20 pm.

Please let your teacher know if you have any questions! We look forward to this experience with all of our Howe students.
