Newsletter for Week of January 27th

Peek at the Week

  • Our story this week is Snowmen All Year by Caralyn Buehner. In this story a young boy builds a snowman and then imagines what fun things he could do with his snowman if he didn’t melt away and he stayed all year long. Such a fun way to learn about the seasons of the year. Reading the same stories at home helps the students make a home/school connection and allows them the chance to let you know what they have been reading all week at school
  • We made snowmen and decided what our favorite season would be for our snowmen.
  • Our letters this week were the letters N and O. We are catching up from last week. We tasted oranges, smelled them, touched them, counted them and then turned then into orange juice.
  • On Wednesday, we painted snakes for the Chinese New Year with our 2nd grade buddies
  • For math this month, we are practicing fractions
  • The Unique Learning System topic for January is I Can See, I Can Hear, I Can Smell as we explore our 5 sense for life science
