Newsletter for Week of December 16th

Gail, Leslie and I wish you the merriest of holidays! May your time with family and friends be filled with good health and joyful memories over the next two weeks. Thank you for all you do for us. We all feel so blessed to have you as part of our classroom family. See you next year!

Peek at the Week

  • Our story this week was Presents Under the Tree  by Holiday Hands on Reading.  This story starts with a favorite holiday scene…presents piled under a Christmas tree.  Children get to find which present belongs to them, and then see what’s inside.  The focus is on counting, colors, vocabulary and general holiday fun.
  • On Tuesday, we enjoyed a CBI outing to Fairlane Mall with Liliana. She fits right in with us girls and likes to shop.
  • On Wednesday, we went to see our 2nd grade friends and we sang for them using our buttons. Our kiddos rocked it and the 2nd graders LOVED IT! We also painted festive trees with our friends.
  • We made our Christmas Popcorn for our parents and wrapped our gifts. We sure hope you liked them. Giving gifts to those we love is the best!
  • We practiced addition and subtraction this week along with 1:1 correspondence, addition and subtraction
  • Spirit Week was lots of fun this week. Thank to all who participated

Congratulation Yasmeen!

Yasmeen is grateful for her new friends and school. We are all so glad she joined our class.

Peek at the Week

  • Our story this week was The Sweet Smells of Christmas by Patricia Scarry. This whimsical story is about and little bear who is discovering all the wonderful smells at this time of year. We made paper apple pie, pine trees, candy cans, gingerbread men, hot chocolate, and oranges and we made them all smell terrific just like the story.
