• Our story this week was Thankful by Eileen Spinelli. This rhythmic story touches on all the things we are thankful for. We made thankful turkeys with all the things we are thankful for each and every day. Click on the button below to enjoy the story at home with your child. Reading the same stories at home helps the students make a home/school connection and allows them the chance to let you know what they have been reading all week at school
• We also read Five Little Turkeys by Hands On Holiday Reading.
• On Wednesday, we joined our 2nd grade buddies and painted turkeys for Thanksgiving. It is so fun to play with our new friends.
• We learned about the letter K this week.
• This month we are learning about the math concept of less and more
• The ULS unit this month is about They Ways We Move

• Our story this week was In November by Cynthia Rylant. This colorful story looks at all that is special about November. Reading the same stories at home helps the students make a home/school connection and allows them the chance to let you know what they have been reading all week at school
• The ULS unit this month is on physical science and geography as we learn about different ways to get from here to there. The literacy book that goes with this unit is Whose Vehicle is it? by Sharon Cooper.
• We learned about the letter I this week. I is for ice cream. We love any reason to eat ice cream.

Peek at the Week

• We had a great time at the zoo on Monday. Our high school helpers were Evie and Eli. They were fantastic with the children. The polar bear put on a great show for us! He was so cool to watch
• We read the Pete the Cat: 5 Little Pumpkins by James Dean. We had a great time with this finger play! A classic with a Pete the Cat twist!
• Our letter of the week was H. We practiced vocabulary words that start with the /h/ sound
• We continured our ULS lesson, Learning About Myself
• For math this month, we are pairing objects with one and only one number
• We decorated our Halloween bags for trick or treating
• Trick or Treating was a blast. The staff at the Administrative Service Center gave us all a great Halloween experience. So fun!
