Newsletter for the Week of October 4th

Peek at the Week

  • Our story this week was I Like Myself by Karen Beaumont.  This book focuses on all the things there are to like about one’s self as well. This literary experience also coincides with our Unique Learning System this month; All about Me. This months unit focuses on what makes us unique and similar as well as body identification and function. Check out the story by clicking the button below.
  • We read and sang about Mat Man to practice body parts and we made our own Mat Man
  • The students worked on their book handling skills.  We practiced turning pages from left to right and pointing to pictures on the pages
  • We worked on comprehension skills by answering who, what, where questions
  • Our letter focus this week was “Dd” The children explored items from our “Dd” box like dog, duck, drum, and donut.
  • We ate donuts, sang dog and duck songs and made paper donuts with real sprinkles
  • We sang counting songs and practiced numbers 1-10
