Welcome to the 2020-2021 School Year

A warm welcome to families returning and also to the families with new kids joining our class. As we navigate together into this new school year, I understand that it comes with questions and concerns on how everything will look due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Rest assured, I will be in constant contact with all of you. If at any time you have concerns, you are always welcome to reach out to me through email, phone calls or texts.

Classes for all Dearborn Public School students will be a half day for the week of Monday, August 31 to Thursday, September 3. (Friday, Sept. 4, is a day off for the district.) The four half days will give staff additional time to learn new online teaching tools, including the Schoology and Zoom software that all teachers and students will be using during online instruction.

What will that look like for us?

  • You will find an instructional video or lesson on the blog for each day of the week. This will start on Monday to be used by families to engage in learning together
  • I will be contacting families as we connect and learn the new Schoology platform
  • Learning labs will begin the week of September 21. I will be contacting each family to go over the details
  • We will be developing new contingency plans for the upcoming school year
  • Chrome Books are available for families to checkout. I will be checking to see if you would like access to one for your home
