Today we will continue our work from Friday. We focused on the assassination of Arch Duke Franz Ferdinand and how it was the spark that ignited WWI. Today we will use our notes to explain the importance of the event in your own words. The written response in the handout will be turned in

WWI Handout Day One and Two

Content Objective: I can demonstrate my evaluation of the assassination of Franz Ferdinand as the pretext for WWI by justifying the importance of the event.

Language Objective: I can write to justify why the assassination of Austrian heir Franz Ferdinand by Serbian Gavrilo Princip caused WWI.

Bell Work: Collect your note sheet and a handout from the materials cart. Talk with your table partners about the assassination of Franz Ferdinand and its results. Add to your notes if you think of/hear something new! Be ready to share out.

Monday 4/20/15

Last Day to Prepare for MSTEP testing round two.

We will be testing Math Tuesday and Wednesday and Social Studies on Thursday.

Objective: I can participate in a Powerpoint review of test taking strategies used at ACE.

Language Objective: I can demonstrate my proficiency in test taking strategies to answer the remaining MSTEP review questions in my handout.

Bell Work: Pick up your handout from the materials cart and answer the next three questions with your table partners.

Friday 4/17/15

Bell Work: Pick up your sample MSTEP questions pack from the materials cart and answer questions 8, 9, and 10 with your table partners.  Be ready to share out your responses!

Language Objective:  I can demonstrate application of test taking strategies by using them to answer sample MSTEP questions.

I have attached a 20 minute video explaining the “Seven Day Study Plan” and a myriad of other helpful test taking strategies. These strategies can be used in any type of class! Some of the strategies will be useful on the upcoming round of MSTEP tests and a little later on when we hit the NWEA tests for the last time this year. Not to mention final exams.
