Day Five (Monday June 1) Use GOOGLE DOCS to complete DOCUMENT C.

Day Six (Tuesday June 2) Use GOOGLE DOCS to complete DOCUMENT D.

Day Seven (Wednesday June 3) Use GOOGLE DOCS to complete DOCUMENT E.

Day Eight (Thursday June 4) Use GOOGLE DOCS Complete Document F.

Day Nine (Friday June 5) Use GOOGLE DOCS to complete “FINAL EXAM QUESTIONS.” I will post a series of questions that you will respond to using the DOCUMENTS you completed in the previous day. You could think of this as a short OPEN NOTE FINAL EXAM. I really hesitate calling this a final exam but for lack of a better phrase that is what we will call it. DO NOT STRESS OUT! This will simply be a way to wrap up the DBQ process without having you write another essay so quickly after you completed one for the Free Speech unit.

Attached are two videos about propaganda that I would like you to watch when you get some time in the next couple of days. The final exam we take next week will use these videos, it would be best that you watch them once this week to familiarize yourself with them.

Procrastination Warning!

Attached is video that covers the topic of procrastination. Something I have been encouraging you all not to do. This video covers what it is and how to avoid it.

I also wanted to forward the schedule for the essay work again. Make sure you follow it.

Essential Question for Essay

Should Schools Be Allowed to Limit Students’ Online Speech?

Directions: You will write a 5 paragraph using the Claim, Evidence, and Reasoning (CER) format to answer the ESSENTIAL QUESTION. You must use at least three of the DBQ documents in your essay and the sources you use should be properly listed in your document. You may use additional sources from outside the DBQ documents but they WILL NOT count as part of the three required sources.

Schedule for Essays

May 13-15

You should begin writing your essay.   The goal is to write at least one paragraph a day.

May 18-19

Continue writing your essay. Keep following the one paragraph a day model. By May 19 you should have 5 paragraphs completed.

May 20-21

Peer Review Process! This is where we will use the partners you all picked to peer review each other’s essays. You will swap essays and review them. This is a mandatory part of the assignment so make sure you do it. When peer reviewing each person should pick at least three items of improvement and three items that were done well, we will call these FOCUS AREAS. These focus areas should be explained to the essay writer in the peer review process. You can use the COMMENT feature on GOOGLE DOCS to accomplish this.
