Remote Learning Day 3

As we begin our third day, I’m already feeling ready to be back in our classroom. I will continue to contact parents directly about student progress. I was impressed yesterday by the perseverance of Team Johnson students! Several students have mastered math skills and I’m sure many will level up in kidsa-z!
Ixl is a tutorial program that explains for students mistakes they made on a question that is fourth grade level work.

Kidsa-z is different because each student begins at their reading level. When they finish reading a group of books and successfully pass the quizzes, the program provides another group of books at the next reading level.

Don’t forget, you can pick up food at Dearborn High School today from 10:00 to 12:00. This is a grab and go sack breakfast and lunch so it is safe.

Day 2 Remote Learning Update

Good afternoon parents,
We successfully made it through day 2. For me it was a lot less stressful. Class Dojo seems to be working without issue now and I have sent several students information about logins and passwords. I believe we are well on our way to successful remote learning.
Please remember that all students are expected to complete reading/language arts/writing, math, science, social studies daily.
I check reports for kidsa-z, brainpop and ixl several times a day and notice that some students are completing only math on ixl and are not logging into the other sites. Please divide the 90 minutes reading time between ixl reading comprehension lessons, kidsa-z books and quizzes and reading library books or books from book bags.
I will continue to message or email regarding your child’s progress during this time. If you need any information about the fourth grade assignments, send me a message here or by email.

Remote Learning

Dear Parents,

As we make our way through the next three weeks, the fourth grade team is developing a plan to move forward and continue the learning process. The most important part of this time off is that we are not on vacation, but are in a situation where we need to work from home in order to keep everyone as safe and healthy as possible.

Together, all three of us will communicate the same message weekly through Class Dojo. Each week on Monday, we will provide a list of learning expectations. We will provide links to assignments and web sites the students already know and use regularly.

We will be checking in and viewing student progress regularly. If you need to contact any of us, please do so via Class Dojo as well. The same information will be available on the class blogs and through Class Dojo messages.

We are including email and class blog links here.

Thank you for your continued support at home.

Room 10 Notes and News

I will be sending notes for spring conferences home shortly. Not all students will receive the conference note. We will have conferences only one evening, therefore I will be scheduling only eight conferences. When I send the conference notes, I will also send a message here to individual families about conference times. If you do not receive a conference note and would like to schedule a conference, I will be able to schedule those after the conference night.
