We’ve been Elfed!

The Elf on a Shelf visited us today after lunch.  She gave us all of our brownie points, flipped everyone’s card to superhero, and left smarties on our desks.  We were super excited 🙂  We even did our “awesome” cheer for the elf!!

In other news (but maybe not as exciting)…

  • Our science test is Monday.  The study guide came home and was posted to the blog on Tuesday.  If you missed it, here it is again.  Water study guide   Today we played Jeopardy as a review for Monday.  Please feel free to play this at home as another way to review 🙂  Jeopardy water
  • Just to give you time, we also have a math test coming up on Wednesday or Thursday.  Here is a review for that, as well.  Math Unit 4 review
  • Don’t forget the lock-in is tonight.  Check-in begins at 5:30.
  • Our holiday party is next Thursday afternoon.  We will probably start around 2:00 p.m.  Each student is encouraged to bring in a NEW, wrapped book to exchange with the rest of the class.  Chapter books are very popular, but it can be anything that is around a 2nd grade reading and interest level.  I am sure if you let your child pick it out, they know what their classmates like to read.  Students will not get to choose who they give their book to, we will play a game that allows each child a chance to choose a gift from the table.
  • Friday afternoon is our school sing-along.  The organization Children with Hair Loss will be here again.  Any adult or child with at least 8 inches of hair to donate is encouraged to participate for this great cause.  The hair will be donated and used to make wigs for sick children – free of charge to their families.  If you, your child, or a family member or friend, would like to participate, please let me know so I can forward you all of the information.
  • Howard is also collecting new mittens for the Mitten Tree in the hallway.  If you are out and don’t mind picking up a pair of mittens or gloves, it would be great!
