Today in Language Arts the students answered critical thinking questions about the story, “Eleven”.  We discussed them together and gave our opinions about what we would do if we were in the situation the main character found herself to be in.

We also practiced identifying the point of view of the story and we began discussing how we would format that answer as a Claim, Evidence, Reasoning (CER) response.

Lastly, the students were given directions to One-Pagers One and Two.  These are based on their Good Fit Book from September and October.  These assignments will not be due until November 2nd.  They will be 20 summative points each.  I have attached the directions to this blog post.  Block Three did not get to this part of the lesson because their class was a little bit shorter today due to pictures.

At 1:30, Dr. Maleyko came to our school and took pictures with all of our students and their new Scholastic books!  Each 6th grader at Bryant was sponsored by a volunteer who donated $9 to sponsor your child for the year.  For the months of September through May, each 6th grader at Bryant will receive a free book from Scholastic to build their library at home! The new books should be coming home today!

Have a great evening!
