Read at Home Requirements

Below are the 2019-2020 grade level requirements for daily reading at home. Parents are asked to talk to their children about what they read each night. Reading is required on weekends and vacation days as well.

Kindergarten:  Read 15 minutes daily. Turn in reading logs monthly.

First Grade:  Read for 20 minutes each night from their reading bag, library books, or home book collections. Planner must be signed daily verifying that reading was done.

Second Grade:  Read every day. Mrs. Alhusaini’s class is required to read 30 minutes, Ms. Watts’s & Ms. Pearce’s classes are required to read 20 minutes. Readers response given 3 days every week. Planners must be signed everyday.

Third Grade:  Read 20 minutes a day and have planners signed daily to verify reading was completed.

Fourth Grade:  Read 20 minutes each night. Parents must sign the reading log.

Fifth Grade:  Read 20 minutes each night. Parents must sign the reading log.
