Texture Rubbings, Watercolor Painting and Reflections

The first and second graders collaborated on a final artwork about Fall last month. They made rubbings of leaves and textures to make tree bark. They did a watercolor paint and crayon resist to create lots of papers for our group trees. The second graders constructed three dimensional branches for the largest trees. The first grade cut and glued long strips for building different branching structures. When finished the students reflected on their process in writing using a graphic organizer to show with drawings and tell with words all about our forest.
