Ms. Taleb's 3rd Grade Class

It was great seeing all the parents during conference nights.  Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy schedules to discuss your child.  It is so important that we work together as a team to help your child reach his or her fullest potential. I am so thankful for supportive parents like you and to be able to spend my days with such nice students!

This will be a short week due to the Thanksgiving holiday.  There will be no school on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday.  Because of this, there will not be new spelling words or a test this week.

Below is what we will be doing Monday and Tuesday:

Math:  We will begin learning about liquid measurements using liters and milliliters.  There will be a short quiz on Tuesday.

Science:  We will be finishing up our second investigation. We will be investigating spinning tops. Study guide will go home on Tuesday. We will take a science test on Tuesday after break.

Social Studies:  We will be studying the causes and effects of the British coming to Michigan.

Reading:  We will focus on informational text by reading all about the history of Thanksgiving.

Writing:  We will continue working on our informational books by organizing our ideas first and then drafting paragraphs.

Mrs. Saad will be taking the third graders on a field trip to the DIA and Parade Company on November 30th.  The cost will be $5 per student and $10 per chaperone.  We will only be able to take two chaperones per class.  A permission slip will be coming home once Mrs. Saad has confirmed all details.

Homework –

1. Math – complete Lesson 7 Homework pgs. 115-116
2. Math – Zearn
3. Reading – read 20 minutes and write about it
4. Reading – iReady
5. Spelling Test Tomorrow!!! Study 🙂

1. We will be collecting cans until Tuesday! Please consider donating 🙂
2. We will have a math quiz on Tuesday. Lessons 6 – 9 will be covered on the quiz.

Spelling tests are going home today. Please review the test with your student. I have many students not passing their spelling tests week after week. These words need to be practiced every day! Students have a spelling assignment to do Monday – Wednesday. Thursday is left for studying and practicing the words however they would like.

Our  math quiz tomorrow will be on lessons 1 – 5.

Miller will be participating in a Food Drive this month. All donated food will go to families in need. The class with the most cans donated will win a pizza party, ice cream party, and 45 minutes of recess!! We are hoping to be that class. Please donate what you can. It is greatly appreciated. 🙂

We will be boarding the bus to  leave Miller at 9:15 !
