Hello families, I hope you had a restful weekend and enjoyed the sunshine on Saturday. It was wonderful to meet everyone last week at Open House. Thank you for joining the blog! This week students should be finishing up NWEA testing and working to finish DRA testing. Friday will be a half day of school with an 11:45 am dismissal. Here’s what we will be doing with our content this week.
Math – We will continue to focus on multiplication and division. We will be using and rotating arrays as we study the commutative property of multiplication.
Social Studies – Students will have a small quiz on Tuesday and should know their address (house number, street name, city, state, zip code). We will use maps to discuss the human and natural characteristics of Michigan.
Science – We will make observations about magnets and begin to discuss force and motion.
Writing – We will begin to develop ideas about events that have happened in our lives that we would like to tell more about in our personal narratives.
Reading – We will use illustrations to gain more knowledge about a story. We will also practice asking and answering questions using our text to support our answers.
