Welcome to 3rd Grade!
Dear Parents,
Welcome to a new year! I am really excited about being your child’s teacher this year. Third grade is going to be a year full of fun, learning, and lots of adventures and I can’t wait to see what the year has in store for us! Much of your child’s success will be determined by the communication between school and home. I would like to welcome not only your child to my class, but you as well. I consider us a team in working towards a quality education for your child. I look forward to meeting each of you at our open house on September 12th.
Homework/ Tests
Each night check the iblog to find out what your child’s homework will be. Your child will receive reading homework daily. It is very important for your child to read 20 minutes each night. In addition, they may have to complete any work that was not finished during the day or complete a review assignment for something that we have already done in class. It is necessary for your child to complete all homework and have an adult look over the homework. Please do not do your child’s homework for them. Grades are given for homework. If your child does not understand the assignment and no one at home can give them assistance, simply write a note on the homework. This will help me to know what your child may still need to work on. In science, social studies, and math, your child will have a study guide to study from before taking tests in these subjects. All tests taken in class will be sent home for you to sign and return to school the next day.
