Happy Mother’s Day!  I hope you had a chance to celebrate with your loved ones this weekend.  Miller is participating in the Olive Garden fundraiser for leukemia.  Your child received a small bank with a flyer explaining this great cause.  Please consider donating and asking family members to help out as well.  The class that raises the most money will win a pasta party from Olive Garden.  Wednesday is a late start.  Here is our focus for this week.

Math:  We are starting our new module on fractions.

Science:  We will continue studying animal adaptations, learned behaviors, and instincts that help an animal survive.

Social Studies:  We will finish our unit on government this week with a study guide coming home later in the week.  A test is planned for next week.

Reading:  We will be focusing on literature this week and being able to recount the main events in a story.

Writing:  We will begin drafting our research reports. We will focus on informational text structures including writing with topic sentences, supporting details, and concluding sentences.
