Welcome back! I hope everyone had a relaxing time and enjoyed the beautiful weather we had this weekend 🙂 Monday begins the last quarter of the school year. Report cards for third quarter will be coming home this week. Parent Teacher Conferences are Wednesday. I will send home reminder notes on Monday. Tuesday will be Spring Picture Day – an order form was sent home before break. If you plan to order pictures please send the money and form on Tuesday. We also have our spring concert this week on Thursday. I will post more about that later this week.

Here is our learning agenda for the week:

Math: We are starting module 4 and will focus on area this week.

Science: We are still learning about the structures and functions of plants. Students will be investigating how much water a seed soaks up by designing an investigation to test that out. They will record data and analyze their findings.

Reading: We will continue to focus on a mixture of literary and informational text to prepare for the MStep. We are focusing on test taking strategies, how to answer multiple choice questions and constructed response questions, and how to cite evidence from the text to support answers.

Writing: We will be focusing how to write to a prompt using a reading based passage. Our focus will be on making sure to answer the question completely, cite evidence to support that answer, and explain why that text evidence is important using our own ideas.
