This week we have late start on Wednesday.   School will begin at 9:35 instead of 8:35 that day.  Reminder- all field trip permission slips and money are due by Wednesday.  If you would like to chaperone, please note that it is also $14 for you.  We are hoping to have several chaperones per class to help manage the kids.  The apple orchard is always a fun time.  Another friendly reminder that we have gym on WEDNESDAYS.  Some kids are forgetting to wear their gym shoes on those days.  Please help them remember.  It was great seeing so many families during Open House last week.  We have another busy week ahead.  Here is what we will be working on this week.

Math:  We will continue to work with multiplication and division.  We will focus on the distributive property.  There will be a mid-module assessment on Wednesday.

Science:  We are learning about forces.  Forces are all around us.  Ask your child what forces are working to keep things on the table, as well as, what forces make things fall off the table and unto the ground.

Social Studies:  We will be focusing on natural characteristics of Michigan by examining Michigan’s landforms and bodies of water.

Reading:  We are learning how to recount stories including fables, folktales, and myths.  We are also learning how to determine the moral of a story.

Writing:  We will be working on true stories.  This week we will focus on setting a writing goal, learning how to organize our writing, and how to write leads.

NWEA testing will continue this week.    Enjoy the rest of your weekend.  See you all on Monday!

Yay! It is a half day!
