Read ACT IV, sc. 1 and the beginning of sc. ii through Cassius’ arrival to Brutus’ tent. In the textbook, pgs. 884-87 through line 52 on this page. You may also access No fear Shakespeare online.

There will not be an AOW posting this week due to the shortened week for Thanksgiving.
Monday’s quiz will cover the words from vocabulary 6 as well as ACTS II and III from Caesar. Review the events on No Fear Shakespeare. com or in your textbook. Be prepared to utilize the skills of interpretating passages, using footnotes and context clues to make inferences, identifying different types of irony and modes of rhetoric (ethos, pathos, logos) as well.
If you are absent this Friday, you should be finishing ACT III via the methods above and be prepared for Monday’s quiz.

Friday’s work
If you missed class today, we continued to work on close reading of ACT II text and also did a words in context practice with our prior vocabulary words.
DISTRICT CCR
Tomorrow the students will be taking the District Close and Critical Reading test in class. The students will read a passage from Caesar and provide written explanations in the following areas:
a summary of key ideas with text evidence
an analysis of writer’s crafte elements with evidence/purpose
a description of theme with text evidence
a text to self or world connection
We have been practicing these key skills each week in AOW’s as well as our study of text and what writers do to communicate a message to a reader.
Caesar homework
Finish reading the last few pages of scii (through pg. 833). Add to your note-taker and be prepared to answer a few questions about the play on Monday.
If you forgot your book, google the play and read it online.
NO AOW this week!
No new article this week as I will be working on grading Writer’s Notebooks for Prompts 3,4, and 5. Students will self-assess their movement towards their writing goals and indicate which piece BEST exemplifies attainment of a goal or goals. I will grade the next set through this “lens.”
