Finish reading ACT III, sc. ii to get the gist of the funeral speeches and their impact.

ACT III sc. ii Focus—Funeral and Aftermath

  1. List at least two things that Antony says in his speech that are ironic. Explain type/why.
  2. What motivates the people to switch allegiance from Brutus to Antony?
  3. What mode of rhetoric does each man use the most? Why?
  4. Who arrives at the end of this speech and scene?
  5. What did Brutus and Cassius do while Antony was speaking?
  6. Identify some of the rising action from ACT III as well as the climax of the play.
